I am craving beans, any kind of beans, really. I am craving them so hard, but I'm feeling really uninspired after I wanted white bean dip and couldn't buy any cannellini beans. I'm aware of bean salads, bean soups/stews, baked beans, refried beans, houmous (might do that later)... but I'm looking for something new, or a new take or twist on those ones I've mentioned. A springboard, if you will, just some recipes to really push me into the kitchen.
The beans I have on hand are:
Canned Kidney Beans
Canned Chickpeas
Heinz Baked Beans
Dry Pinto Beans
Dry Black Beans
I have loads of spices, unfortunately no fresh herbs, the basics like garlic, onions, potatoes, tomatoes, and some grains, mainly pasta, rice and couscous, but nothing much else vegetable wise, and then some store-cupboard staples like lemon juice, olive oil, soy sauce, etc. So I'm definitely really looking for something where the beans are the star.
I preferred cooked dishes over cold to really get them creamy inside, but this summer weather may demand the latter, so throw both at me. If you can give me a warm recipe that's still light and summery involving beans, bonus points.
Cheers.
