Corned Tempeh

Has anyone ever boiled tempeh with pickling spices like corned beef? We're having this for dinner tonight and I normally just have the veggies and bread, but there are extra spices and I am curious

I boil tempeh with pretty much everything. Any liquid or spice or combination that sounds good, or even sounds skeptical, usually is. :) Maybe in this case don't boil it just in water, use some veggie broth or even a little bit of vinegar. Tempeh absorbs a lot!
