Veggie bouillon cubes

Jan 26, 2009 16:09

Hi all,

Best tasting veggie bouillon cubes for soups (I never make the effort to prep my own veggie stock ahead of time)? I'm trying to part with my MSG-laden (but delicious) Vegeta seasoning and replace the taste with some bouillon cubes, so I'd love any recommendations.

TIA!

vogue vegbase is what i use. cheap, organic and available. it does have a distinct taste to it though.

have you ever tried better than bouillon? i really like it, and because it's already dissolved, it's easy to work with:

I'm a huge fan of better than bouillon. I second (or third) this. :)

I prefer veggie broth powder to bullion cubes (I think bullion is too salty). It's just as easy to use and very yummy. I get the Low Sodium Vegetable Broth from Frontier. And it's organic! One bag lasts me several months.

i like that too.

especially the "chicken" and "beef" flavors.
i'm sad my wholefoods no longer has them in their bulk bins. :-(

if i want to ever get them again, i'll need to order big bags online.

If you ask your friendly local natural food store (maybe even whole foods?) they could probably special order it for you. it comes in one-pound bags and is carried by tree of life, which is a major natural food distributor that most stores get regular deliveries from.

it comes in a jar and isn't dehydrated but i love it way better than cubes.

Another vote for Better than Bouillion. 38 servings for around $7 where I am and it's very tasty and super easy to work with.
