Finding a vegan wine will be pretty easy, but I'm not sure what to do on the cheese front. I would like something omni/vegetarian friendly so it's not just me munching on it alone all night ( Read more... )

I'd say go with idea #3 or #4. I've never personally been that fond of vegan "cheese" (save cream cheese) when it wasn't toasted or cooked in some manner. Plus, bruschetta is always a crowd-pleaser and pairs fantastically with wine. You can't lose.

Yes, this.

Vegan "cheese" isn't the sort of thing you want to eat melted on crackers. It's not very good that way.

i'd maybe try the cream cheese ....it has fooled omnis before with me!

i haven't tried shreese either but it sounds hella expensive - especially to bring to an omni party when yr not even sure of it yrself.

or you could try the dessert route instead...that one it would be harder to detect too....
ah. tricking people into eating ethics!

vegan wine and cheese party seems like a good idea!

I would just stick with some fruit and chocolate to keep it easy!

There are many wonderful things about vegan cuisine, I do not count the fake cheeses among them. Lush dark chocolates, fresh fruits, and crunchy nuts would all be excellent pairings.

Bruschetta or cheesecake. Personally I'd go with the cheesecake, but bruschetta would probably be easier.
