Maple recipes

Apr 29, 2008 09:49

So, I live in Canada. Near where I live, there are very many cabanes-à-sucres around, and so maple syrup/sugar/taffy is always readily available. I love maple, but unfortunately I do not have any recipes calling for maple except for beans. If you have ANY (including beans) recipes with maple in them, I would love it if you could share! Thanks in

A lot of Dreena Burton's do. Her homestyle choc chip cookies are great. :)

also, when i make schezuan sauce for stir fry i use maple syrup to balance out the extra hot.

How do you make the sauce?

tamari sauce, rice vinegar, asian chili sauce (not the sweet kind), red pepper flakes, and maple syrup to balance out how hot it is. it makes it sweet at first and hot at the finish :) i LOVE using this sauce on spinach.

i love these peanut butter cookies. they're perfect!

here's a picture of them. they are a little more cakey than your traditional peanut butter cookie, but they're still tasty as hell.

Do they really not come out with that sandpaper texture that every vegan peanut butter cookie I've ever made had? Or does cakey mean...sandy? I'm so hopeful, but then I've had my hopes dashes so many times.

I already do that. I put it on oatmeal, fruit, and pretty much anything I can think of.
