I was looking for an excuse to get creative with my video camera and asked my LJ friends for 'assignments'. One requested I film the creation of one of my vegan treats so - here it is [clocking in around 7 minutes]... Chocolate Peanut Butter Torte ~ENJOY!

Original 'cake' recipe from Hippie Chick Bakery. Peanut butter filling recipe modified from different sources. Oven times may vary.
brownie/cake
3/4 C flour
1/4 C cocoa powder
3/4 C sugar
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 tsp baking soda
1/3 tsp baking powder
3/4 C soy milk
2 1/2 TBSP apple sauce
Preheat oven to 325 F. Lightly grease 9" spring form pan.
Line bottom with parchment for ease.
Mix flour, cocoa, sugar, salt, baking soda & powder. Stir in soymilk & applesauce. Mix well.
Pour in pan - bake for 40 min.
pb filling:
5 TBSP vegan margerine softened
1 C smooth peanut butter
1 1/2 C confectioners sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2-5 TBSP soymilk
Cream together butter & peanut butter. Add vanilla. Add sugar in 1/2 C increments adding soymilk a little at a time until desired consistency.
Spread pb filling on cooled cake and spread to edges.
choc ganache
3/4 C soymilk
1/4 C margerine
12 oz choco chips
Microwave soymilk & margerine 2 min. Pour in chips, stir until completely blended. Pour over top of pb on cake & spread. Let cool or refrigerate and serve.
