Going off of havfaith's comment, I've decided I need to try to make this cake for Christmas dinner. Only problem is, that cake mix has milk ingredients. I haven't yet had time to do much searching for another brand of boxed spice cake mix. Does anyone know another vegan brand that has spice cake (I like the gingerbread-quality of the look for Christmas)? ( Read more... )

I've tagged your post for you. Did you find this tag when you were looking earlier on or not? There are a handful of entries under it.

Thanks for that. I used the FAQ and didn't see a link like that (still not seeing it, actually, so I must be completely blind and/or tired).

I often find I have to go through several times. There are so many.

I have found that in some areas (or maybe everywhere, I haven't checked in my home state of Texas), Duncan Hines Spice cake mix is vegan. I bought some in Kansas over Thanksgiving and it is totally milk-free and delicious.

Yeah, a number of mainstream brands are vegan... and store brands (albertsons, western family depending on where you are, etc) usually are too!

Sweet! I'll check it out. Especially because I'm lazy and will be short on time before our family shindig. I checked at a grocery store tonight but they didn't seem to have spice cake in any of the brands there. I think they had every other flavor though. I'll definitely check a different store for the Duncan Hines or imitation brands.
