my friend melissa wanted a strawberry cake for her birthday. i love me some vegan birthday cake, and i wanted to do something special for her, so i whipped this up!

i painted it in. i like bindis. my beliefs are more hindu than anything else. it makes me feel more pure.

well it's definitely not a a style. i've spent years of my life worshipping hindu deities, following hindu teachings and teachers and living with hindus. i sure hope if they were offended by my traditional indian dress or rituals that someone would have told me. plus i make a mean masala dosa, i hope that's ok too.

actually it is very common in india now to wear bindis only for fashion purposes among the younger generations, at least according to my father and other family members who are from punjab.
