Sauerkraut

I have discovered a jar of sauerkraut, bought a while ago in a 'ooh, that looks interesting' moment. I've got no idea what to do with it - googling brings up a lot of things that involve pork. Would serving it with onion gravy and potatoes be a good idea?

Any ideas appreciated!
