crockpot tortilla casserole

If I were to change the recently posted tortilla casserole recipe and cook it in the crockpot, would the tortillas get "funny", or would it turn out ok? Thanks.

I went ahead and tried the crockpot method and got black bean and salsa mush with tortilla flavor. Will definately try the quesadilla-type of ( Read more... )

I would have to see the recipe. What recipe are you talking about? I went back through the last 75 entries and didn't see anything about a tortilla casserole (but maybe I'm just blind today).

Chances are though, whatever it is, you'd probably want to make whatever didn't contain tortillas in the crockpot and then wrap whatever that is in tortillas when you eat and/or add them towards the end.

Slow cookers hold in moisture more than a conventional oven does, so the tortillas wouldn't get as crisp or dry.

it's really good. but, as spaceprostitute said, you would definitely want to leave the tortillas out and just wrap them or fill them later...
