that sounds really good and cool.

but two question: does it have a strong soy taste? would a carnivore notice this or not like it?

I can't taste any soy in it, and my non-vegan fiance (who tends to be picky about that sort of thing) has been devouring it. It is definitely one of those recipes that you add to the list of things to surprise people with.

Wow, nice. Did the condensed soymilk taste a lot like real condensed milk?

I don't really remember what real condensed milk tastes like. It's a moot point though - because even though I jokingly said in the recipe to do condensed soy milk shots with the left overs, I was too afraid to try it :p

Your fudge looks really good. The last time I needed sweetened condensed milk, I used soy milk and combined it with extra soy milk powder and some sugar. It took a little less time (maybe a half hour?) to get it condensed with the extra powder in there.
You could definitely use your leftovers to make seven layer bars, which is what I used mine for.

Seven layer bars sound terribly exciting! Do you have a link for them?

Thank you for the tip about the powder., I'll definitely givethat a try next time.

Any recipe you can find on the 'net for Seven Layer bars is pretty much the same. You make a cookie crust out of 1.5 c crushed graham crackers and 0.5 c melted Earth Balance. Sprinkle it with coconut, whatever kind of nuts you like, and then chocolate or other flavored chips. Then you pour/drizzle the condensed soy milk (most recipes call for a can, which is 14 oz)over the top and bake it at 350 for about 20 minutes. I'm sure the recipe is pretty adaptable to whatever nuts you want to put on it, and you can even add dried fruit.

You can get away with less condensed soymilk, the bars just won't be as gooey. Some people call these "Hello Dolly Bars".
