hello everyone! i have read in a book or two, been informed on various occasions from different sources, that soy products are bad for you. some sources say not all soy products are bad, just ones that are not fermented. many sources have said things that i have already read about in other sources in previous research. anyways, i've always avoided

they talk about soy being used in china, and how most of it is from the states now. it's also important to take into account the diet and lifestyle of the chinese instead of saying that everything fabulous in their life is because of soy. chinese medicine is groovy, but i don't feel that soy is the ultimate thing that it's hyped up to be.
think about it... why are soybeans planted, who benefits, etc. look into this information. it is basically a huge industry that benefits the super powers and it is found in absolutely everything. it is so versatile, and is found in food as well as other things. i don't think that it is good for you, in my opinion. it can be used from food to paint and so on and i think that we need to look into that more.
as for me, i was drinking about 2 cartons of soy milk a week. this was so good soy milk, which had more soy protein than others, since they use soy protein isolate. i figured it had to do with the fact they weren't organic and whole so i switched to silk, which uses organic whole soybeans. i was also eating tofu once in a while, lunch and dinner.
there are so many stories from women about how soy negatively affected their health, and to be blatantly ignorant about it and suggest that i'm stupid like some people have been trying to say, is very ignorant.

Soy is certainly a hyped product, driven by marketing that extols it as the next greatest thing. When soy is mixed into heavily processed foods then indeed, it can become a foodstuff with hazardous consequences. It is a cheap form of filler and it does sneak its way into so many packaged things. If only people avoided such packaged foods....
When you compare the soy consumption of Asian people to that of an North American, the differences are huge. Hence, my comment about moderation. Besides, I do not think their consumption of soy comes in the form of drinking it by the glass like us North Americans do.
I always find it weird when companies start adding ingredients like the soy protein isolate you found in the Soy Good soy milk. It's not necessary and leads to questionable consequences in the body. So, 2 cartons of soy milk/week, that would be approximately 2 L, no? That sounds like a lot to me.
I also believe strongly, that if your body sends you messages for what works and what wreaks havoc diet wise, that's it best to thank it for its wisdom and act accordingly. Kudos to you for being sensitive in that way ;-)

and i wasn't implying that you think i'm stupid, but it was in another forum i x-posted this to that people don't seem to be taking me seriously.
the thing is, in china they don't have soy milk, they have soy juice, and they make it fresh with soybeans. this is unlike anything in north america... but now china's supply of soybeans mainly comes from the US genetically engineered crops, which is quite dangerous.
thanks @ kudos. :o) i wish others would be so inclined to look into that themselves, instead i am being insulted by them for not being a doctor. as if you need to be a doctor to know what's going on with your body... that's just another way of how pathetic our world is and how brainwashed some people are that medicine is like the ultimate and that anyone below it couldn't possibly know enough about their own health... blah blah..
anyway, soy sucks, and i'm glad that you agree that it is definitely a marketing scheme. check out that website, for real.
