A Miracle: Tasty Instant Soup (VeganMoFo #9)

I'm sicker than sick this morning... I managed to keep the germs at bay for a couple days but I pretty much have a full-on disgusting cold with sore throat and aches now.

Yesterday, anticipating the worst, I went to the store for some lozenges, OJ, and soup.  The soup I got was this instant bowl of what I fully expected to be dehydrated junk (which I, of course, fully expected to be disgusting).  Alas, it was delicious.  And I'm not complaining.  And I wish I had more!

The stuff I got was Annie Chun's Miso Soup Bowl.  The first reason it's awesome is that the bowl is pretty big, unlike some of the other instant soups I've tried when I used to take lunch to my office.  Then, you open the bowl to discover that it isn't filled with crappy dry noodles, but big awesome soft udon noodles inside a packet!  The second packet contains a big cube of dried stuff:  scallions, tofu, white miso, and spinach, all pressed together.  And the third packet contains normal red miso.  You empty all of the packets into the bowl and pour boiling water on it, and after it sits for 2 minutes you have this amazing delicious bowl of miso soup with big tasty udon noodles.

It seriously tastes homemade.  I'm baffled.  The only bad thing is that the sodium content is through the roof.

This was kind of an expensive splurge on my part because I think it's kind of a ripoff to pay 2 bucks for a bowl of instant soup, but this was way worth it... I really wish I'd gotten more than one bowl.  The website lists the price as over 3 bucks, so I guess I got a deal in that respect.
Also, the package is clearly labeled "Vegan," which always makes me happy.
