Homemade Guacamarole

Aug 26, 2008 19:52

So, I've had homemade guac before but B. made this for me on my birthday (plus one additional day because I love love loved it so much)... it's the best guac in the universe.   I of course will never be able to make it this good, because I will never have the patience to mince the ingredients as tiny as he does (we're talking microscopic mincing here...)  I always make stuff chunky because I hate chopping.  Anyway, he gave up his recipe to me... and here it is.

B.'s Awesome Guacamole (and a side dish of salsa):
2 avocado
4 plum tomatoes
1/3 of a white onion
1/3 of a bunch of cilantro
3/4 tsp. salt
3 jalapenoes
1/2 of a lime's juice

Cut the tomatoes in half and scoop out their middles.  Then cut them into a tiny dice & place them in a bowl.  Then mince everything else (except the avocado) super tiny and add it to the bowl.  In a separate bowl, mash up the avocado.  Then add the tomato mixture until it's a nice guacamole consistency... save the extra remaining tomato mix to use as salsa (which is just as yummy as the guacamole is!)

Be prepared to spend like an hour mincing stuff.  Ack.  But the result is totally worth it.
