A Matched Set
Nosmutforyou had an holiday challenge where entrants were asked to imitate Hemingway and write a story using six, twelve or eighteen words. I'm not Hemingway and my offering took eighteen words, but I did produce a two sentence story called "A Matched Set":
Neville’s watch lay smashed to bits: Carrow’s work.
“It’s fine. The watch was my Dad’s. They match now.”
