Dear GSSM Community,
Dr. Murray Siegel has told me of his desire to retire at the end of the fall term, due to ill health in his family. I accept his decision with regret, and he will leave at the end of December.
Dr. Siegel has a long and extensive record as a nationally recognized mathematics instructor. He has served as a strong leader with the College Board in Advanced Placement Statistics, as well as other national and international initiatives. President Reagan recognized him as a Presidential Teacher of the Year in Mathematics, and he has accrued numerous other honors and distinctions. He has published on numerous occasions, and the Teaching Company provides his Algebra course on CD. Please join me in wishing him and Sharon well as they retire to Arizona.
Dr. Siegel will complete instruction in all his current classes. We are beginning a national search for our new mathematics instructor for spring.
