OTP? or no OTP? That is the question.

People are absolutely crazy nuts mental when it comes to fandom and shipping. I'm glad I'm not one of them. Me - I'm only obsessed.

Absolutely brilliant! *g*

*waves* I am obsessed myself. But dunno if it's for the same ship than you...

I'm more fandom-obsessed than ship-obsessed, but I'm actually for the canon ships! *waits to be pummeled to a pulp*

The... canon... pairings ? Do... you... mean... the... ones... in... HBP ?

*gulps*

My only accepted canon couples of HP are James/Lily and Ron/Hermione. My icon should indicate you which one is my favorite pairing. ^^

And dun worry, I won't pummel (?) you to a pulp. *huggles*

I do mean the HBP ones. James/Lily and R/Hr are a given to me. I even like H/G, I'll probably be killed for that, but I do. I was sort of waiting for it to happen, so it wasn't a surprise to me.

I like your pairing too. *g* But in canon you have to accept that Sirius is, well - dead. I love Remus to death, but I can't imagine him being all hot for corpses (though there wasn't one of Sirius). I accept all fanon couples with the exception of incest. There is just something seriously disturbed in that. *shivers*

Oo;; Well... I don't like H/G because... it's just a pale imitation of J/L for me. Don't forget Ginny is a redhead too. But I do love Ginny, she's a great chara ! I think that Harry suffers of an huge Oedipus Complex... And the fact I don't like Harry doesn't help. ^^;;

I love Tonks too but JKR just turned her into a cheesy girl and it's what that makes me angry. I know Sirius is dead and I agree with you there. Of course, as HP is first a children book, a gay relationship wouldn't be too good for it. I also love Remus to death (he is my fav chara from HP) and that's why I think he truly deserves happiness though I greatly doubt he ever will be as happy as he was in the Marauders time... But I will deal with R/T even if I hate the romantic pair because, for me, they are unrespectful of Sirius and even of Dumbledore. But that's just my opionion (and well... and of a few others fans I talked with...).

Yuck. Incest makes me sick. In all fandoms. How can people think it's 'cool' ?!

Hope I don't sound too confusing. Oo;;

Oedipus Complex...hmm, I never thought it as a reflection of James/Lily, but now that you mention it, why not. At the bottom ALL emotions can be explained as freudian complexes or what not. But I don't like to think of underlying psychology, it was a subject I avoided with a ten foot pole even in highschool, and all in all, it brings us back to the lovely subject of incest - gross!But I do like Harry, he's actually one of my favorite characters in HP, simply because I can relate to him so much - not that I'm famous or anything, but aside from that - and I recognize myself in many of the situations he encounters and is forced into. So the fact that he can be happy with Ginny, no matter how short a time, makes me feel happy for him, because I like Ginny as a character as well (her sense of humour is brilliant ( ... )

I see. It 'chocked' me as soon as the pairing (at least when Harry's feelings started to change towards Ginny) showed up. That's why I find it too 'easy'.

Incest is gross indeed. And disgusting. Yuck.

I don't like Harry since a long time now. I find him annoying and arrogant. But I can understand why people like him. Maybe I'm too old (30) and that's why I'm more interested in the adult generation. After all, my age is closer to the Marauders' than to Harry and his friends'. Ginny is just adorable. ^^

R/T... Well, yes, we don't know what are their feeling before, maybe they were already dating in OotP, a thing we'll maybe never know. And I didn't say the relation was unrespectful in the sense Tonks was with Sirius or Dumbly before but... well... just the way it comes out. I mean... They just learn the death of a dear person !! I would have deeply chocked if someone had reacted this way after learning the death of my father last year. That's what disturbed me the most. If it had happened before that event or even after the funerals ( ... )

I can accept Harry's arrogance as being youthful. Why? I was exactly the same at his age. But it actually has more to do with temper than wanting to show off. Or so it was with me.

And, yeah, you know some women, they're not very tactful when it comes to love. *g* But yes, I do agree that Remus showed his usual sensible self all throughout the book, in a way that no one else did. He kept his calm, didn't even break down like a baby when he heard Dumbledore was dead (like I suppose he could have). He was brave for all people around. I love him! *squee*

But about the pink hair, I wouldn't read too much into it. It was, after all, Tonks' 'real' hair colour, her trademark, like the red hair was the Weasleys'. Not maybe very funeral-ish, but you wouldn't be upset for Ginny or Ron having red hair during the funeral either. You would be a bit upset, yes, that Tonks who can change her hair colour at will would choose a more subdued shade, but I think the pink is too natural for her to realize it would be 'inappropriate'.

S/R <3 forever! *g

I see that we agree on a lot of things. *huggles*

Oh yes. And the mention of Harry's loneliness annoys me to no end.

Yes, Remus was perfect, as always.

Mm... I'm not sure it said that Tonks' real hair colour is really pink so it's maybe why it chocked me (and I'm not the only one in this case). The Weasleys' redheads are fine for me as we know for sure it's their real, unfaked colour. I still think Tonks should have chosen something else, maybe just a darker pink. It wouldn't have mean it wasn't her. Anyway, she seems to be a little too much in her lalalalaworld for the circumstances... Or maybe it's me who is extremely sensitive when it comes to mourning things as I passed through many bereavements already. In fact, I'm still in mourning...

*nods nods* ^^

If you're interested, I'll tell you when my HBP post will be done. Do you mind if I mention some of the things we're talking here ?

Your HBP post will be most interesting, give me heads up when it's done. And yes, you may use our discussion as base for it.

Also, I didn't mean that pink is Tonks' "natural" natural hair colour, just the coulur that comes most naturally to her. But then we all have different way of coping through mourning periods, meaning no disrespect.
