Middle aged men in grocery stores

For some reason, they're the only less-than-polite people who shop in grocery stores. Everyone else seems to be very polite.

Now this isn't true for every grocery store... the closer to Minneapolis I get the less friendly the people in general are. But yesterday, at the Cub in Plymouth, I had a very positive shopping experience. Until one middle aged man....

There was a cart about 7 or 8 yards in front of me. Going with the American rules of traffic flow, I was going the same direction as she was on the right side of the aisle. There was a cart going the opposite direction that stopped about 4 yards ahead and to my left. The cart behind this guy exclaimed "nice" all huffy as I went down my side of the aisle.

So I'm supposed to wait for you to pass (which he had time to do before I even got there, but he didn't) before I go with the grocery store traffic flow? I don't think so Mr anti-manners!

It's not my fault you've kept that stick up your nether region for so many years. Kindly pull it out before returning to the grocery store.

But then the very kind check out boy ended up bagging my groceries for me (just one bag... I was mainly there for the sida deal) because a bag had been dropped on the floor behind him and he felt like being nice. Thank God for kind and friendly people!

On a side note... I haven't been getting enough sleep lately. Not that there's anything wrong, I'm just really into this new author, Phillippa Gregory, and it's difficult to put the books down!
