The Indiana Jones movie was the sort of thing that, ten years from now, will be on TV every rainy Saturday afternoon from here to Hoboken, and hopefully in the process will be edited down about half an hour. Because not only would the movie make a smidge more sense that way, it also would drag less. It's, you know, an adventure, but not nearly as ( Read more... )

>Especially when you remember that the little gray aliens on The X-Files were played by a dance class of nine year old girls, and it had to be girls because equivalent gaggles of boys had a bad habit of beating each other with their foam heads?<

No...were they really? I never knew that, and it makes me happy.

I've just learned this, too!

I am pretty sure I learned this in 1st- or 2nd-season promo interviews. (Which... might be on the boxed sets?) In fact, I think it was one of the Lone Gunmen who spilled the beans, in sheer delight at the idea of young Odiles turning into aliens in their spare time.

Yeah, I was really not happy with either the Surprise Scream Masks Of Graveyard Horror or the Legions Of Protective Dead. If any non-white person had had much of a SPEAKING role, I'd've felt /minorly/ better about it, but only minorly.

The action stuff mostly just made me cackle in brain-turned-off glee, but they lumbered in about the same ways some of the Last Crusade bits did, too. Formulaic. Depressingly so.

I'm just putting the Last Crusade disc in my dvd player in order to turn back time a bit.

And you make very good points. It makes me wonder why people like Lucas etc don't have any insight about how simple a different choice would have been. Still enjoyed seeeing Indy again, and his hat. But oh my, the way humans go through the day with gigantic blind spots worries me a bit.

...what about the WORDS of physics??

I literally GASPED OUT LOUD when Harrison/Indy said he just escaped a "NOOK-YOO-LAR" bomb.
