Over the weekend I was re-watching SGA episodes from season 1 while moving furniture, and remembered all over again how likable it was in those early days. Also I am reminded of Minnaway's story about 5 ways the Atlantis people came home, the first several of which were varying levels of dire, and the last of which involved the pin in a pair of scissors, and the realization that they were home, like it or not. It's one of the first stories I read in SGA (and consequently one of the first stories I read in fandom, after a long dry spell), and it's with me still, though I haven't looked at it in a long time.
