Okay, now this grabbed me by the collar and yanked me right out of my seat. Wow. From the brooding stew of failure and unhappiness and late-night radio chatter (Art Bell! Whoot!) to BANG, wegottasavelivesanddoitrightfreakingnow - what a rush! This was excellent, the pacing, the stark brevity of the boys' conversations, the action and moments ... Yeah. This goes to memories. Thanks for this. :-)
Cheers ~

Thanks very much. I wrote it in flow -- meaning, I had a general idea of what would happen but not a specific one till each step led to the next -- and I'm surprised and pleased at how it came out. Glad you enjoyed it so!

Oh, this is great! And, yeah, like Agent Henriksen's not confused enough *already*.

Heh. Thanks. Poor Agent Gotcha has got his work cut out for him.

Vivid and evocative. And yeah, I'd like to see Henriksen figure this one out.

Now I am trying to figure out where on the LIE they were...

They were at Magical Exit Q off the LIE. I mashed together stuff I've seen off the Cross-Bronx Expressway with my general impression of outer Queens for their stopoff. (All I know about the LIE is that it is straight and flat, two very weird things on a highway in the northeast.)

Glad you liked the story!

Actually, the LIE isn't very straight, especially when you hit the outer reaches like exit 46 and beyond. Flat I'll definitely give you :D But as I liked the fic, I'm not going to start nitpicking for no reason. GREAT JOB!

Thanks! I take my knowledge of the L.I.E. from years of watching New York news (I actually lived in Connecticut) and wow if people can't completely wreck their cars on the straightaway. I don't even want to know what they do on the curves.

Glad it worked so well for you (despite my shameless geographical fudging)!

Absolutely riveting...and yeah, a shout out to Art Bell from me too. You rock. This was a pure adrenaline read...just kept gobbling up big chunks then had to go back and read again because it's so good. Off to rec...thanks for this.

Thanks for the feedback, and the rec! Fame is always awesome. I love Art Bell's crowd, or rather, I am glad that they exist. (They're actually kind of boring and annoying to listen to.) The array of crackpottery on display in our nation's heartland --!

And then some of it might not be crackpotted at all.

You have wire straight into my brain, yes? You push image, sound, and smell through wire into brain receptors, no need to bother with this "reading" thing.

I don't remember reading this. I remember being there.

I think it is a side-effect of the group brain of the b.org. I am glad it worked the way it was supposed to in this instance!

Thanks.
