Wonderful Maifest Joy

What a gloriously wonderful weekend! We had taken Friday off to get the house ready for our guests. Good thing we did, as it took all day to get the house clean and the upstairs, which we rarely even use anymore, aired out and ready to house the folks who were traveling to visit.
Our friend Mike from champaign was fetched on Friday and helped my husband mow, while I cleaned inside. Remind me to clean inside more often, the bathtub was gross.
Rick from Rockford and Chris and Dan from WI showed up on Saturday. We sat around and chatted until the Faining and Feast. Hamburgers, brats, and chicken on the grill with a delish broccoli salad and potato salad as sides. We made our usual Maywine which is always a big hit. Christine made her award winning Sour cream pound cake which was so good we had it for breakfast on Sunday!

Maypole and bonfire were treats that warmed my heart but waking up early to have coffee while my house full of folk slept on was my favorite moment. It felt so good to know the house was full, the way it should be. My husband dropped Mike off at work around 9 and was back shortly after everyone else had woken so didn't miss much. The conversations were wonderful and animated and the company welcome.

We are hoping to get up to Christine and Dan's in September for Octoberfest, we will have to see how the finances are at that point. I would love to go.

One of our best events I would say!

Hail the folk!
Hail the Gods!
Hail the wheel that turns to bring us all together!
