WHAT A GLORIOUS DAY!!
I love my job. I LOVE IT. I LOVE MY JOB. I LOVE THIS COMPANY. I LOVE IT HERE. I'M SO HAPPY AND GRATEFUL THE DECISION TO STAY HAS BEEN A GREAT ONE. DARE I SAY A GLORIOUS ONE!
My boss Bryan, the Chief Creative Officer, assigned me to listen and select tracks I like from the following soundtracks: The Dark Knight, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, The Bourne Ultimatium, Body of Lies, Casino Royale, Transformers, Iron Man and 300. Yah, so I get to listen to soundtracks and select the tracks I like. How glorious!!
Warner Music Group also offers discounts on their cd's, so we pay $3.15 per cd. My co-worker got a Tori Amos boxed set. I saw it online for as little as $80 and as high as $135. He paid a whopping $15.75. $3.15 x 5 discs. . . I bought Aretha Franklin Live at Filmore West 1971 and The Grateful Dead Live at Filmore West 1969 and also paid a whopping $15.75. The Grateful Dead cd online was about $25 by itself. I LOVE EMPLOYEE PERKS. Everyone's getting cd's for Christmas this year. :D
My boss Randy, the Chief Executive Officer, also gives me fun assignments like drafting agreements which I've never done anything like that before. Every.Character.MATTERS. You overlook one little letter/number, it's all over. It could change everything.
Shannon did her first photo shoot for GOURMET MAGAZINE! She'll be in their August 2009 publication. She and her boyfriend Rob got the callback for this job so they got to go together! How friggin cute are they?! I love them together. I want them to be the next best comedy duo. Our older sister Patty makes fun of how skinny they are and how they can both sit in one chair. SRSLY though, their four thighs still don't equal one of mine. MUAA HAHAHAHA.
Wes and I are going to the Martin Sexton concert for Halloween. I'm not dressing up. I had a lot of fun last year being a Queen-of-Hearts-Slutbag but that all requires money and we're saving up for New Years Eve in New York City. It's one of those things to do before you die and Wes gets to do it this year. I'm so excited for him! So are his friends and family.
Music is my life. Oh yea yea yea. I love working here. SRSLY. Can I just say how lucky I am to have found this job? YEA. There have been a ton of ups & downs, but at the beginning and end of everyday, I am grateful to have such a fun job. Now that I'm no longer the receptionist, I have so much freedom to run around like a chicken with my head cut off. The pace of my job hasn't changed much, but the responsibilities have. . . so I'm excited.
Other than that, life has mostly been rather uneventful. I've been cooking a lot over the last couple of months and it's easier when it's not just for me. I am actually starting to feel a lot more confident playing with spices and mixing up tastes. Even last night, I made burritos and Wes' friend Kal came over, had a taste and complimented how GOOD it was. I was surprised, but happy he liked it. I like life when it's uneventful. Heroes Season Three is ok. I hate Mohinder's storyline right now... not sure where they want to take it. Last night was a SURPRISING EPISODE. Wes got it... he knew exactly what was happening. Me? I was confused.
We're also addicted to Weeds which the fourth season ended BEAUTIFULLY. AM EXCITED. Burn Noticed Season two ended quite nicely, as well. LIFE is DEFINITELY one of the best series on television right now. I LOVE CHARLIE CREWS AND DANI REESE. The captain is probably one of the best characters in the show. I love him. "I don't know what you were doing while I was living in the United States of New York City..." *chuckle*
"Sometimes the job does a number on your life. Once in a while your life can do a number on the job."
I LOVE THAT QUOTE.
Anyway, Matt Hopper is playing Urban Lounge on Sat. Nov. 1. I'm hoping to see him play. Martin Sexton is coming on Halloween - WAY EXCITED.
Um, that's about it. I still have no idea who to vote for, either. I was such a huge Obama Mama for a while, but now I'm torn. Don't get me wrong, I don't necessarily dislike Obama, there are just some things I believe McCain would be MUCH better at getting done (safely - like ending the war and bringing home our troops...)
I'm not talking politics. NOPE.
