One Year of Dynamis!; Continued WotG activities...

Dec 03, 2007 13:47

Today marks one year since we started doing Dynamis with the same core group of players we have now!  Originally, it was a co-op with another social-type LS... but once they dropped out, we continued on with the LS as it became "Immortality " and run as a separate entity unto itself.  Last night we went back to where it all started and destroyed Dynamis-Bastok... taking down lots of mobs and stealing their paychecks and garmet bags.  ^^

Background of Immortality Dynamis:
Aside from a brief period over the summer, we've always been a once a week Dynamis LS.  I think most of our members are not Dynamis junkies, so it makes it easier to keep people on board once a week than twice.

We have fairly open admission requirements, but members that are troublesome or not dedicated usually do not stick around for long.  We work quite well as a team, so new members can pick up the flow quite easily.

For the first year, our focus has been primarily cities and Beaucedine... due to our relative inexperience with Xarcabard and the fact that it can be cost prohibitive, we've only attempted it twice.  I expect that to change here in the future.

1 Year of Drop Statistics:
I am a total stat geek, so I find this interesting.  Below is a list of all our drops broken down by zone.  Some extraneous stats are there as well, but you can see the important stuff:

WTF at losing in Bastok?  Yeah... I know.  It was my first time pulling, way back when.  ^^  I was sort of pressed into battle, but since my initial growing pains, I don't think we've failed to win a zone that we were shooting to win.  Maybe a bad luck Beaucedine, but that's it.  :D

Since our forays into Xarcabard, we only have one member at 5/5 AF2... Phyre.  I think he picked up most of his SMN AF2 while not even seeking it.  Our LS lacks SMNs, heh.  As you can see, our most frequent drops are BLM, RDM, and WAR... which keeps those guys mildly happy.  Unfortunately, we have a lot of them... so we still need more!

Future of Immortality Dynamis:
The immediate future of the LS is complete another round-robin through the cities to give some newer members access to the Northlands.  Longer term, we are going to hopefully remain on an alternating schedule between cities and Dreamlands/Northlands areas.  We've done Buburimu already... but the challenge of Valkurm and Qufim await us.  It'll take some trail & error to beat those, I'm sure... but one day I hope to take an All-Star team of 18 (the zone maximum) into Tavnazia to tangle with all those mobs.  ^^

And of course, we want to utlimately takedown the Dynamis Lord.  Right now, we are a little short on BLMs and RDM/DRKs.  I think the latter issue is being addressed more and more lately, so perhaps one day we'll be able to get the right group of people together and take him down!

WotG Activities:
Since my last update, I've dabbled a bit more in the new content.  Jam and I took our time, but finally obtained all the Maws in the past.  I have to admit, it makes traveling in those zones a lot easier.  All the warping you can do, combined with being able to hop into a Maw in the future and pop back out in the past.

I've also been interested in the Campaign Ops.  I've used my Op Credits whenever I have some available.  Rumor has it that they cap out at 7 on the NPC, so I guess one could get by with doing them once a week, but I have been on more of an every other day schedule.  Combine the Ops with the random participation I've had in actual Campaign Battles, and I got my Brass Ribbon of Service § § after my evaluation on Saturday.  I'm going to try and keep up with these and see how high I can get on my sometimes limited schedule.

Lastly, I did a couple of quests.  I quested my Deathstone, when combined with an Adaman Ingot I had on a mule and two relatively cheap items from the AH... I got my 7th Gobbiebag expansion!  65 slots is pretty cool.  70 will have to wait for a bit, but at least I can quest one of the two expensive items for it as well.  The other quest I completed was the Dancer flag.  Hurray!  I can dance now!  Well... not technically until I level up and gain those abilities, but you know what I mean.  >.>

Other stuff:
- Completed another Omega popset
- Obtained Rostrum Pumps for 3 members of the LS.  We'll have to go back again for more!
- Completed two more needed Assaults, now 46/50.
- Merited for a short time.  I have two merits in the bank, so next time out I'll be able to get something new!

Quotation of the Day: "What about the patented Vedder pulls I hear about?" - Clannagh, wondering if he was going to get to experience the excitement of one of my giant links in Dynamis.  :D  (Usually just one per run though. >.>)

dynamis, wotg
