Congrats Brian. Keep it up. I know it's past time for me to make a similar change. Like you, I've done it before and can do it again. There are some great ways to get your exercise in when you have ankle or knee issues, btw. Situps and leg lifts shouldn't stress the ankle, and you can get some light dumbells or hand weights and do light weight/high repetition curls, presses, shrugs and lateral raises from a seated position that will tone while burning calories. If you don't have the equipment and don't want to spend the money, just use a couple of 1 gallon water jugs...they're about 8 pounds a piece. I don't look like it now, but I've been a gym rat and know whereof I speak.
