So my plans got dashed for this weekend and I ended up at Hunters down under for the Moonshine Mason and the Rotgut Gang show. They are a pretty damned good band. I am impressed that there is something like this in Lafayette. The band that was on after them was all whiskey swagger and eyes shooting daggers. If you ever see a poster for Porter Hall Tennessee do your self a favor and go to their show. They have some very good original material in the rockabilly vein with good old punk rock undertones that guarantees the whole place will be drinkin', dancin', and singin'. Their cover of the Violent Femmes "Country Death Song" is not to be missed. They could teach Gordon Gano a couple things about singing his own song. After the show we closed out the bar and ended up at Dave Mason's house with both bands and drank until the wee hours of the morning. I think it really says something about your friends drinking habits when you close out the bar and are just warming up. My own stamina in this venture could be a direct consequence of drinking and entire jug of Kentucky bourbon by myself the weekend before.

I have just finished my taxes. My refund will be more than enough to fix my car and buy a new battery for my laptop. I also would like to report that Elisha Adelman is totally hot and talks more shit than any girl I've ever known.
