O HAI. I still alive.

Oh hello there LJ long time no see.

Its been for ever since i really updated this with anything of substance. Its been a fairly crazy time for the last few weeks. I was working like mad on the launch of my web mapper for salmon recovery I call Geoviewer (sadly already trademarked) which is up and running now. The retreat for launching it was rather fun and everyone seemed really excited about it and looks to be a success so far.

The more interesting bit that has taken most of my time recently is that I seem to have acquired a roommate. which in my little one bedroom apartment is a little difficult. My friend CC has basically ended up homeless through...somewhat no fault of her own. The whole thing is almost to much to put down, but basically the place she was about to move into fell through after she and her roommate vacated their apartment. What they were then told would be two weeks before the could move in (prompting a two week road trip, blowing the last of their money both girls being essentially jobless) turn into an additional week when they came back into town. Which is where I come in. CC would be pretty much homeless and on the street and being a big softy I couldnt let her not have a place to be so offered up my couch. Well that few days before they could move in became a few more day, and a few more, ending in drama where the guy who they were going to move in with, lost his house, had a seizure, and is leaving the state to stay with his parents for a few months. Totally ridiculous. So she is still here going on week two.

Not that I dont like her, I just find it hard not to talk down to her right now. Well not quite talk down to her, but keep myself from offer up advice with words that sound eerily like they should be coming from my dad. Things like job recommendations, and tax information, and theres no way you can expect to continue on without a real job. CC and her former roommate made their living scavenging the GoodWill bins for clothes to sell to clothing resale stores like Buffalo Exchange. I think that in the week she has been here i have instilled in her the need to get a real job, one that wont land you homeless.

I dont know, it has been kinda fun having someone around the house. Im cleaner and get to bed at a reasonable hour, but if im going to have a live in girlfriend, I think I would prefer one that came with the benefits of a real girlfriend.

well we will see how it goes.
