The Book of Daniel controversy

**stands on soapbox** "Is this thing on?" *taps microphone*

So, there is this new tv show airing tonight called "The Book of Daniel" (for those of you who haven't heard about it yet). There is tons of controversy about it and it hasn't even aired yet. NBC affiliates are boycotting the show, all based on what viewers have seen in a commercial.

Some comments:
"We're very obviously very concerned about it. It is an attack and I am tired of it."
"I am tired of being put in the limelight -- of (being) laughed at, being made fun of and putting Christianity down,"
"They are making the one we turn to a joke. He is addicted to drugs to the extent he is hallucinating Jesus,"

Now honestly, can people truly make that judgement from what they see in a commercial? Is it not part of Christianity to not pass judgement on someone (or something in this case). Especially without knowing all the facts, or even watching the t.v. show first. This has been bugging me lately because I don't really appreciate people responding to something they know almost nothing about. I could pull out some scripture here that I learned in 13 years of Catholic school of Jesus not prejudging anything/or situation with out looking inside at the person or looking for the lesson in the situations.

I am not one who normally even talks about faith or belief to people because I believe everyone has the right to believe what they want to believe, but I do get upset when I see people prejudging people, or situations without giving them a chance, or learning all the facts.

I really am curious about what you guys think. I completely respect your opinion. I just want to know what everyone else thinks about this.

I am curious about the show and plan on watching it. After I watch it then I will make the decision to either say something or not based on the content.
