Nightwish: The highlights.
First off I HAVE to say Marco is ADORABLE! The Viking just.... yum. *giggle*
Ok, enough of that.
The band is TIGHT, musically I don't think they took a vacation at the loss of Tarja, and it shows. Throwing in a new lead singer is often times a very hard transition of a band, but these guys made it look like nothing. Anette fits in very well.
Anette, wow, she rocked my sox. She has a different singing range then Tarja, but has a BEAUTIFUL voice none the less. Throw in the fact she plays the crowd amazingly well, seems very personable, and is cute too and I think she is a better front (wo)man then Tarja.
Tuomas is adorable, that smile of his is borderline devastating. He never stops moving, I have no idea how he doesn’t give himself whip-lash. Either his neck muscles are made of steel by now or he doesn’t have a spine in his neck.
Marco, aside from what was stated above *grin*, is an amazing musician. He plays the crowd, plays the bass like a mad man, AND plays a bit of guitar, not to mention he sings too. No, you can’t tell I like Marco can you. *lol*
Jukka is one hell of a drummer. WOW! He also plays with the crowd and his hair has gotten amazingly LONG. Emppu rocks that guitar too. For my least favorite from the band, these two really amazed me last night. K and I may call them poseurs, but they are far from it. The talent seeps out of these two, despite the fact that Emppu looks like he is on his knees when he is next to Marco.
The crowd was pretty good, but it was HOT in the club. The poor band members were all soaking wet by the third song. After playing The Islander Marco made the comment that it sucked because that was his easiest piece to do and he was soaking. *giggle* Poor Anette almost lost her pants at one point too.
In closing, I want to thank the members of Nightwish (despite the fact they will more than likely never see this) for an amazing evening of pure entertainment.
If any one reading this gets a chance to see Nightwish in concert, GO you will not be disappointed.
