As Proof That I Am Not Actually Dead

Feb 14, 2010 15:15

My parents got me a 4 lb. jar of jelly beans for Valentine's Day, because they're apparently as unconcerned with my weight as I am. I've made a slight dent in it already today with zero flavor mishaps. Knock on wood.

Other than that, everything's truckin' along. My mom tore her rotator cuff and, after several months of complaining that her shoulder kinda hurt, finally had surgery to repair it. She's out of commission with her dominant arm in a sling and plenty of pain pills, so my sister's taken over a good deal of the household chores. If I feel half-way decent, I'll usually help out some, but that's unpredictable. I've been to see that new neurologist-slash-geneticist and he's found a couple of weak copies of genes that have to do with nutrient retention, so we're bombarding my body with prescription-strength does of certain vitamins (which are all thankfully water-soluble). I'll go back in a couple months and see if I've improved.

And now you know...the rest of the story. I'm Paul Harvey.

holidays, headache, family, nonsense
