Dear Steve,

You've been owned by another botique manufacturer. Not only is it thinner, but it also has answers to all the complaints people have about the Air, some of which are answered in an extremely clever way (the point-to-point Wi-Fi, for example).
And since you wouldn't want to edit video on a MacBook Air anyway, there's now really no reason to buy one unless you're an Apple shill.

It's not that I hate Apple, by the way. Far from it. I respect them as a manufacturer who make fully-integrated systems that take a lot of the small frustrations out of computer use. Every time I pair something with Bluetooth in Windows, I wish I had OS X's lickety-split hook-up. But to everyone who thinks they're generally better computers than anything else, they are not; they're better at certain things than Windows or Linux machines, and they're worse at others. For creative, right-brained types the advantages are pretty clear thanks to Final Cut Pro and the bundled photo/movie/music software of iLife. But not if you're a tinkerer who likes to open the hood and see what's really going on. Or if you're someone who likes to play games other than Sims 2, World of Warcraft, and Photoshop. Oh, and Spore when it finally comes out.
