Outbound Flight

There's a reason I haven't updated lately: I've had a headache for the past two months, almost two and a half.
That Topamax (Dope-a-max) that I was on earlier? Yeah, it did exactly what I was afraid it would do. I was so doped up that I could barely hold a simple conversation. I felt like I was thinking through a wet blanket, and it took only a week or so of being on that before I called my neurologist and he pulled me off of it and put me back on the amitryptiline that still didn't work. I saw him the other day and he's put me on something called Keppra that's apparently used to treat seizures in children and has almost no side effects. Now if only it'll work to quell the headaches. Apparently the Lexapro is helping me keep an even keel, because after 2 months of being essentially house-bound by my headaches I haven't shot anyone yet. Bored out of my skull, though. There's only so many times you can watch "Star Trek: The Next Generation" before even classic TV starts to grow tiresome.
So, I'm going to New York to visit Ryan. He was cool enough to buy me a ticket and let me sleep on his couch and I hope the change of scenery will help me feel better. If nothing else, it'll be neat to go see the legendary city, a play or two, and probably "A Scanner Darkly." I'm planning on taking a lot of pictures, which I may post when I get back. I've got that Photobucket thing, might as well use it. For now, I'm gonna go pack.

vacation, medication, rants, headache
