Whole Lotta Nothin'

As previously intimated, nothing much has happened to me in the past, oh, six months that I haven't updated my journal. And it goes a little somthing like this:
  • Amanda moved in with me for a while instead of living at her parents' house, for obvious reasons.
  • I went back to school with the help of the disability services center, since ADD is considered a learning disability.
  • I got plantar fascitis (or however you spell it) in my right foot. It took about a week before I could get to the urgent care place (Amanda had to work and I obviously couldn't drive myself), where they diagnosed me with gout and gave me some pills.
  • The gout medicine didn't really help anything and I had to take a medical withdrawal from school...again.
  • Amanda's dad loaned me a cane to walk with, and I started feeling old
  • I spent most of my time inside, in my room, watching TV, having headaches, piddling on the computer, and/or reading
  • Around Christmas, I saw my regular physician and he diagnosed me with plantar fascitis.
  • My parents decided that I needed to come back to Statesville so I could recuperate by eating better, getting exercise, and getting a job to save some money
  • The day after Christmas, Amanda was walking out to her car, felt her knee hyperextend, heard a loud crunch, and rolled down the hill. It turns out her tibia was shattered and her fibula was fractured. So, they carted her to the hospital and there she sat for two weeks.
  • Her tibia has been cemented and screwed back together and she's at her parents' house, beginning a physical therapy regimen. It's going to be at least 12 weeks before she's ambulatory again.
  • Me, I'm at my parents' house after moving out in the middle of a snowstorm (and, yes, I do live in the South) and am in the process of looking for a job and a gym. I've signed up for a home neurofeedback system through the Pisgah Institute so I can continue working to improve my brain while I'm 2 hours away from my regular therapist
So, that's the story I'm going with. I wish I hadn't disappeared like that, because I'm realizing again that I missed reading all about what's going on in everybody's lives. But, here I are again and I'll try not to do a disappearing act again.

medication, rants, headache, fitness, school, family
