This is fanart for Goede tijden, slechte tijden, a Dutch soap. Also known as GTST, because we Dutchies love to make words shorter.
The storyline I'm following at the moment is Lucas&Edwin's.
Edwin is a closeted gay guy, who couldn't resist Lucas' charms, and kissed him.
From that point on, he began hiding and lying and got himself a girlfriend.
But Lucas is very set on his goals, and he really wants to help Edwin with his coming out.
It's all a bit of a mess, because the girl Lucas is friends with (Wiet) likes Edwin (as does Lucas - Lucas has a major crush on Edwin
), and Lucas knows about Edwin, but he doesn't want to rat him out to Wiet, but on the other hand, he's helping Edwin deceive Wiet that Edwin's straight.
Wiet and Edwin are in a relationship.
Edwin doesn't feel anything towards her... It's sad but she's being used as a beard. :/

So, I drew:
- Edwin sitting in the closet.
- Writings on the wall are supposed to represent Edwin's struggling and thoughts.
- Empty coat hangers --> loss of control.
- A portrait of Wiet, smiling with her eyes closed --> she's blind to what's happening.
- and... Lucas! Isn't it ironic that his name means light?
He's reaching out to Edwin with his rainbow hand!
He wants Edwin to grab it, and Edwin is reaching out slightly as well, but his own rainbow hand is still clutching his head in fear.
The words on the coat hangers..

Ontkenning = Denial

..And I almost forgot, the title: Come out, Edwin!
