I just noticed you were interested in the (full) MarvelousMail LJ community. Just wanted to let you know about a new community my friend has started up: http://mailmissions.googlepages.com/
It's similar to the MM community, I believe.
Anyway, the idea is that you apply to become a member and send your info to the moderator. Then you get access to a blog site that lists open "missions" that you can choose to participate in or not, depending on your interest. You will be matched with another person and get their address, then exchange by mail whatever item the mission suggests. (I think the site probably explains it better than I do!)
It might seem initially that there are some hoops to jump through (such as getting a gmail account) but it was set up that way on purpose to try and filter out any leachers or people who really aren't going to be positive contributers to the community.
Check it out if you're interested! I think it looks like fun... since I'm a mail lover too...
