Day 2 in Germany

Acora Hotel, 0720

I've been up for two hours already. Jet-lag is no fun. But I've mostly got myself to blame; yesterday afternoon I crashed for a "short" nap around 1600, and wound up sleeping for four hours. So much for going for a walk and exploring. I woke up about the time Jacky arrived.

Went for dinner in a nice little German beer garden. It was pretty cool. Forgot to take my camera with me though. Oh well, it was nearby and had that nice combination of tasty + cheap that means I might go back there again. I had some kind of pizza-like thing; onion and bacon on a flatbread with some kind of cream cheese on it. To describe it as a pizza would be inaccurate; that would be like describing beef noodle soup as "pasta." But "pizza-like" seems close.

Got Jimmy all unpacked and tested out last night. Seems like he's travelled well. Still some last-minute work to do on him before the ICRA presentation on Wednesday morning, but I've got two days to do that. I'm not expecting he'll balance super-well, but as long as we have a good presentation that ought to make up for any demo-related shortcommings we may have.

I don't know what the plan for today is. Probably a lot of working on Jimmy in the hotel. So basically the same as what I'd be doing if I was in the lab, but with a slightly less comfortable chair and a better view out the window. Seems like a good trade-off.
