I'm not returning to my school next year.
I'm not sure I'm returning to teaching either.
I was intending to be a programmer when I went to college, but decided not to do it. I did Minor in Comp. Sci., but I haven't written code in probably 5 years.
I'm hoping for a job opportunity closer to my hubbie's job. Maybe up in Stierbach (F'burg area)
Someone suggested Dahlgren, but I'm not sure how to get a job there (other than the obvious answer "Apply").
I really need a minimum of $30k, so I have a lot of options. Even if I just go work somewhere for a year or two not using my degree that would be ok. I'd like to get my Master's degree in Operation Research or Statistics. I really like teaching statistics (low level is all I know right now, but I enjoyed the class I took in college) and I loved Dr. M's class on OR. Excel is really a pretty nifty program.
If I weren't making $38k right now, I'd probably have left my job...
I'm really hating my job. Only 10 weeks left and then I have the summer off...
I did have a good interview at one of the job fairs that I went to, the other one I babbled. I was a bit nervous and was sick, and had to wait over an hour with out anything to keep me occupied.
My bosses (Department Chair and Principal) have both said that they will give me letters of reference, but it has been a month and I STILL don't have them. I have decided to email them every day until I get the letters in my hand.
Overall, work is shitty, but other stuff is starting to look up. I managed to start new garb with Lisette's help. I'm organizing my room and getting rid of the stuff that doesn't fit. I've probably donated $500+ dollars of stuff to Goodwill already this year and I got receipts this time (unlike last year where I didn't realize how much my stuff was worth and probably donated $3k worth of stuff).
I have a dresser full of sewing projects and not all of them are SCA related. In fact, I'd say about half are for modern patterns. I have the most miserable time shopping for new clothes. I'm too small for the 'big girl' stores and too big for the 'regular' stores. 2 hours in Sears today and I only picked up one shirt. A men's button up that is probably going to end up being too big to wear to work (neck and arms) because I had to make it fit my boobs. I didn't have my dress pants with me, so I'm not sure how it will look. I might be able to take it in a bit and fit it to my shape, but that may be more trouble than it is worth.
It's strange, but most of my modern sewing projects are medieval looking right now. :-p I have a few tunic style shirts and at least one peasant blouse type shirt (the kind the wenches would wear at a renn faire).
Anyway, this is the longest babble since last summer, and I have some grading to finish.
I'm trying to get back in touch with my friends, but it may be touch and go until mid-June when I am released from my contract and get my life back.
