On sunday, Dave, Summer, Chris, and myself woke up really early to go to the Daytona 200. First we ate breakfast, and left Orlando at about 9am. It was kinda foggy, but it was sunny so we thought that maybe it wouldn't rain. When we got there the first thing I did was burn my leg with the pipe on Chris' bike! Yeah it hurt like hell! But I sucked it up and tried to forget that it even happened! I was sooooo excited to be there! I had never been to bike week so I felt like a little kid in a new toy store! There was so many people there, and so many different bikes, it was great! We walked around all the tents for about 2 hours, and then we decided to go get our tickets. With the tickets we had, we are able to get into the infield, and it was so great! We got to see all the racers with their beautiful bikes getting ready for the race! I felt like I was in HEAVEN! Then as we are getting ready to find our seats, it starts to rain so hard, so we get under a tent with like 25 other people and wait there for about 30 min. thinking that the rain was going to slow down. Well that never happened and we had to end running because Chris had taken some plastic bags off of the truck of the Vietnamese people so we could make some kind of rain coats with them, and the lady didnt look too happy so we ran. That's when we really got soaked from head to toes! And to make everything worse, it was really cold! So then we walked around for like another hour trying to find rain coats for the ride back, but of course nobody had any, or they had ones that were like $80! So we just decided to head back. We all felt so miserable! Chris and I didn't even have any jackets, we just had long sleeve shirts that were soaked and weren't helping! We were shivering the entire way back to Orlando, and it took us about 3 hours to get back! It really sucked! I had never felt so cold in my life!
Well it seems like we had a miserable time, but I still think that it was all worth it! I had a great time and loved every second we spent there! I wish we would had been able to see the race, but at least we saw them practicing! I had a blast! Hopefully next year it wont rain so we can see the race!
Well thats all I have to say about sunday. It was a journey!
Chao!
