Yes, those words are quite used, now that I think about it LOL
Mata: as you said "kills" and a piece of bush or tree.
Baraja: deck or pack of cards
Villa: Villa or town (obviously)
Silva: sounds exactly the same that "silba": whistles
Maduro: mature
Torres: towers
