Hands Up, Baby.. Hands Up... Gimmie your heart, gimmie gimmie your heart

So I am finally back from the fabulous Club Med Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. BEST. VACATION. EVER. for serious. I shall start at the beginning for ya and give you a day by day breakdown. yes long journal - but you'll just have to deal.

Friday - Plane flight went smoothly, nothing too much to report. The entire airport at Punta Cana is open air, at least until you get through security when you're going to leave. Stepping out of a plane into 85 degree weather and a clear blue sky is amazing. We headed over to Club Med, which is basically brand new and completely revamped since the entire club had been destroyed by a hurricaine in 1998 and damaged a bit in the one earlier this year. (the soggyness made us have to take malaria pills, just for safety's sake, but mind you I didnt see one mosquito). Thus the rooms were all air-conditioned and had a tv and mini fridge, but the coolest thing is that in order to conserve electricity, you had to put the card attached to your room key in a little slot to start up all the electric and ac, minus the mini fridge.

None the less - heres a brief view of what we saw when we went to explore that first day:

Night Shot - sorry for the blurriness

While we were wandering we met a girl and her family who had also just arrived from Michigan. Turns out their daughter, Kim, might be going to University of Michigan next year in their honors program. Well I spent most of the week with her and Grace, partying it up. Especially that night at the party on the beach :-) after some pina coladas.

Saturday - Grace arrived. Spent the morning swimming and relaxing. Got to have my white chocolate bread for the first time since Huatulco. More lying on the beach, fell asleep reading Anna Karinina.

And sorry, after that i pretty much cant remember what I did on which day. Grace and I took tennis lessons with this instructor named Walker. We also kayaked, windsurfed, and snorkled. I did some archery with my mom and also got in on some beach volleyball games. I spent a lot of time lounging, spent most of the nights at the disco hanging out with random G.O.s and Grace and Kim.

Did a lot of experimenting w/ fruity drinks and such. lots of rum. and they were very liberal w/ the amount of rum they used in their drink. and when i say liberal - i mean filling up half a glass w/ rum before adding anything else.

Oh. some more amusing things that happened. My dad and graces dad got 2nd place in the mens doubles tennis tournament

I successfully completed a catch on the flying trapezee

and the G.O.'s had a chocolate fight

My dad and I sang Eight days a week at Karyoke, and Grace, Kim, and I had a little too much fun with the free photo booth they had at the teen place (we really weren't supposed to be there because we were too old). Now time to put the nose back to the grindstone and get out of the crazy sign mood.

you can't go to club med and not get involved in things, theres always a show or a contest or an event going on. and what else made it really cool is that it is a primarily french resort, so i understood everything in both languages.
