i keep trying to make time to write about this weekend, but my free time isn't exactly in abundance, so here goes:
-went to the hurricane festival near hamburg.
-immense craploads of famous, sort-of-famous, famous-if-you live-in-germany, and not-so-famous bands played
-found out the hard way that drunk germans are inconsiderate, pushy, wasteful and rude
-can't seem to come to a different description of sober ones (minus the wasteful part)
-if you're at a mainstream german festival, DON'T stand ANYWHERE NEAR the surrounding fences => unending rivers of urine
-the highlights of our journey:
1) the roots (an incredible live act to behold)
2) bjork (wondrously strange and beautiful projections. oh, and she has the voice of an angel. made the mistake of wanting to see her up close, leading to bruises, tortuous continual shoving and pushing, constant struggles for air, of course not even really seeing her at all)
3) massive attack (dark, sexy, hypnotic. but i miss tricky)
4) underworld (a lot of fun, danced my ass off to a super kick-ass breaks track)
5) radiohead (a truly amazing performance - i was in a trance the whole time)
6) i fell head over heals in love with my friend's camper van - it is now our goal to own one within the near future
