"How I respond to God today influences His future plans for me."
I heard this today at a Bible study about Jacob's blessings to his twelve sons in Genesis 49. Through Jacob, God saw the hearts of these men and spoke an appropriate blessing to each of them. To some, the blessing included an element of discipline - an opportunity for them to change.
How am I responding to God today? Will I submit myself to him or choose my own way? What character trait in my life is keeping me from moving forward with God? Am I double minded, easily swayed, blown and tossed like a wave? Have I made my refuge in the Rock of God, trusting Him completely to save me and to lead me?
I love that although things aren't all perfect in my life right now, I can trust God's goodness and know that He is intimately involved in all the details of my life. I am not abandoned. I also love that He cares enough about fulfilling His purposes in me that He will show me when I'm off the right track and He'll do whatever it takes to set me right again.
Do you sense God's plan for you? How will you respond to God today?
