It is Friday afternoon. I have a huge stack of essays to mark over the weekend. I cannot leave until about 4 pm, because I have student taking an exam. And yet I cannot bring myself to mark, either.

So. Distract me. Prompt me, even.

Dean/River!

is to peer through windows,unobserved

Not exactly from your prompt, but a Blessings fragment for you -- I guess I'll need to add this into the next part:

Dean's sulking, and he knows he's sulking, and he just wants to be left alone to sulk, damn it. That's what he's down here in the second hold to do: well, that and check their holy water supplies and how many bags of salt they have left. The answer turns out to be fewer than he'd like: no time to resupply between the last mission and Whitefall, and it don't look like they'll be time to stock up on the way to Corinium, neither.

What he don't want is for that damn girl to turn up, sneaking in while his back is turned so that he turns around and there she is, squatting perched on one of the weapons lockers like some kind of crazy bird. "Get down off that," he tells her. "Ain't you made enough trouble ( ... )

Oh, awesome. I especially like the "not a bird" because of course, Mal calls her little albatross. *hearts*

::headdesk:: You know, I didn't even think of that. It's just that Dean sees her as so birdlike, here.

John/pie.

(elderberry, if you must have a type.)

Sam/books. The smell of them, the weight, and how he always *liked* taking tests, esp. math tests, because he learned things on the extra credit hard questions that he hadn't known before.

You might like the thing I wrote for vic, as well; I'm not sure this is the snippet you have in mind, but it's something ( ... )

ah, yes. That.

(For me, it was one semester of organic chemistry, when it felt like the whole world just opened up before me, and I could see the gears spinning and the air moving.)

Nicely done, I like the pencils and the dark solutions.

More Sark in Hell, please! Or John. Just as long as there's Hell!

I keep thinking that someone should write a big "in hell" fic. The one I want to write is a never-ending poker game in which the devil always, always sins -- to the extend that the cards shift between your hands and the table. Abd then it's just a matter of making up the table -- John, certainly, and Nina Myers, and Al Swearengen... but I need a few more dead characters to play with. Lilah's the dealer, obviously.

Something to help me get over my Rome withdrawal, pretty please? Octavia and/or Livia for preference, but anything at all would be fabulous.

Sadly, I am home now, but I will bear this in mind. The ending of Rome left the historian in me a little confused, at least regarding the women.

It stands to reason that Dean would end up involved with a girl who thinks she's a ship -- or at least, who doesn't see anything wrong with thinking she's a ship.

And thank you!
