(no subject)

I'm seriously considering redoing my yuletide sign-ups for the second time. It's automated, right? This isn't making more work for the mods, I hope. The first time, I got cold feet about something I offered to write; this time I have cold feet about a request I made. Because there's no point wibbling about not getting what you want if you don't actually ask for what you want, and there's nothing wrong with asking for a canon pairing. Seriously. I have the strangest hang-ups.

The thing about yuletide for me is that I love the gen more than anything, and that there are certain fandoms in which I can't see relationships which aren't established in canon -- or rather, I can see them, but I have too strong an attachment to the canonical pairings to consider writing anything else. So I've been a little careful with my offers this year to avoid getting something I absolutely can't write -- because musesfool's post on this subject says it all. And frankly, I'm amazed that people think otherwise. But yes, I've been a little more cautious about my offers this year -- I'm in awe of people who've offered 40, 50, 60 fandoms. I think I managed 14, although I might add one when I go back to change my request.

In other news, my attempt to update my website continues apace, with six Alias stories added last night. I have a feeling that some of these stories got lost in the shuffle, last year -- I mean, I'd forgotten that some of them existed, and I wrote the damn things.

And finally, I'm looking for a beta-reader for one of these Sark crossover pieces -- it's Alias/Homicide, and I need someone who understands Catholic doctrine -- I have only the vaguest idea of how this whole confession/repentance/absolution thing works, but Frank does, and it's important to the story. It will be short, and it isn't quite ready yet -- but it probably will be by tonight or tomorrow.
