The interesting thing about reading Pamela Dean's Tam Lin now, as opposed to in college, is that as a professor, I'm forced to admit that I would perfectly happily sacrifice an undergraduate to the lords of Hell every few years, if it brought a reduction in my teaching load.

I did enjoy the book, and may someday collect my thoughts enough to say why.
