Updates.

1. Have marathoned the first three eps of BSG for the new season. No spoilers. Still rocks my socks.

2. Have one more ep of Boogiepop Phantom to watch. I still can't fit all of those puzzle pieces together coherently. PLB asked me about it, and I ended up just pulling a funny face - "spliced non-linear multi-directional narrative about echos of memories caused by aliens" kinda just sounds dumb.

3. Am sitting here hitting refresh on Dattebayo, for I doubt I'll get a chance to see the joy(fail?) that is Bleach ep168 tomorrow. Too busy. Hope it appears tonight. Have already seen opening credits by virtue of Veoh and Youtube. I won't mind the complete schism between the filler and the proper plot if it means I get to see a number of the characters I've been missing: Tatsuki and co., Isshin, Nanao and Shunsui. Even the tiny glimpse of Rikichi, pointed out by misumaru made me squee.

4. Last night went to the pub. Ate a tube of Pringles. Drank whiskey and a beer that PLB had to point at, rather than order by name, because it went by the unfortunate moniker of 'John Willy'. Felt ill. But had fun pouring through the 4 different guidebooks for Prague. I expect to come back with only one ear. I intend to make it a mission to try as many Czech-only absinthes as possible.

5. Finished an original fic with the working title of Punishment yesterday. Came in at a respectable 4000 words. Matt's read the first draft. He thinks it is the best, well most saleable, of my recent meagre short story output. \o/

6. Had an interesting conversation with my cousin's best friend. She's fourteen. But hey, she writes vampire poetry, has NIN (although, I had to explain the acronym for her) quotes on her profile, and shared with me this little gem: Kermit the Frog singing NINs Hurt. If I wasn't worried about the whole she's legally a kid thing, I think I would have directed her to the myspace film... but even though she clearly understood all the goings on in the Kermit clip, I definitely don't want the kind of hassle that could come with that kind of pointer.

7. Myspace Beyond the Rave film update: Episodes 4 and 5 are up. Can see myself briefly in 4, but only cause I know what I'm looking for (I'm carrying a big white canvas. Am the second person, not the first - that's Wendy - and then back across the screen again a bit later). Continuity in no. 5 seems a bit off.

8. Am 2,413 words into my bleach_flashfic contribution. I definitely want this beta-ed before I put it up. If anyone wants to volunteer now, that'd be great. It should come in at under 4000 words. It needs to be polished before May 3, as that's when it has to go up.

9. The person who wrote for me, empath_eia has already put her contribution up. \o/ 4051 words of what I am sure is pure Aizen goodness. Pity I am unlikely to get a chance to look at it before Tuesday, because tomorrow...

10. I have a. Doctor's appointment b. A task to find the tackiest British postcard possible for dougras c. pack. d. fly to Prague! wheeee! squeeeee!

Don't let the hyper fool you. I hate plane journeys. Not so much the mid air bit - just the going up and coming down sections. It used to be okay - being younger, the novelty of flying, less of the chest-crushing anxiety attacks, but last few flights have steadily gotten worse for me. I wish I had access to some Mersyndol. When I took that last I just didn't *care* about anything, eg: I left my keys at work, which was 1 1/2 bus hours journey in one direction. Normally I'd be internally yelling at myself for being such a stupid fucknut, but this day it was all 'la-di-dah...my brother will be home. I don't know when, could be hours, but this piece of concrete looks nice. I'll enjoy the sun while I wait...'

Not a feeling I'd like everyday, but it might be nice to have some of that to counter the 'OMG I'M GOING TO DIE! PLANES AREN'T NATURAL!' shit my body puts me through, even though I know it's a completely irrational response. I know the stats about Plane travel. I know it's safe. bah!

Slightly more than the 10 points now - forgot to mention I spent Sunday leisurely walking around Islington with the Greens London Assembly candidate for the North East District, Aled Fisher. The day was lovely, we dropped newsletters through letterboxes, he's got his head firmly on his shoulders, and is an all-round nice guy.

He was elected as the candidate unopposed, and it's great to see the local party completely supporting him. He's currently the Union president at LSE and is in his final year.

Matt's considering writing a letter to the Lib-Dems. The spat he had after reading their 'Tuff on imaginary Krime' manifesto was something to behold. I think he used the words 'no difference between them and the fascists' as he described how ill he felt after reading the bilious propaganda that supposedly passed for intelligent policy.

(and 168 still isn't up :-(. )
