This is a recent photo with out a wig for those who are new.
Also I found this in my Facebook memories but I want to post it here for anyone that can relate to any of these so you know you are SEEN. Working with people who have experienced trauma is a passion of mine. Post traumatic growth in particular. We cannot change the past but with trauma the past is often present. Our point of power is now and I am a big believer in healing and the ability to repair and create new pathways in our nervous systems.
Anyway, trauma is everywhere these days and this is a good thing to repost.
Things you cannot see:
Chronic Illness, Mental Illness, that someone has experienced homelessness, that someone was a teen runaway, that someone works in the sex trade or did at one time, whether a person has experienced extreme poverty, that a person has been bullied, how someone identifies themselves, that someone experienced sexual abuse or extreme trauma, addiction, recovery status, eating disorders, that someone is being hit or emotionally abused at home, that someone struggles with a disability, deep unrelenting loneliness, PTSD, that someone is exiled from their family, has no family, has a disease such as cancer or MS they are enduring, that someone is confused about their sexuality, broken hearts and hopelessness. Please, please, be kind. It takes so very little and means so very much. None of us can fully know another's story or where they are in their understanding. Thank you.
