Some shit about the New Game Enhancements for Star Wars Galaxies.
All info was taken from a Game Spy article. I just took out the main important parts to summarize all the bullshit...... The shit in italics is just me typing how I feel.
Just wanted to say that I'm as disappointed with the press for avoiding the issue of "people with disabilities" as I am with SOE and LucasArts for as adroitly dodging the subject.
Fact: anyone with less than 2 fully functional hands can no longer play SW:G.
Fact: anyone with visual impairments can no longer play SW:G.
Fact: anyone with a nervous disorder can no longer play SW:G.
Fact: Sony's representatives have offered NO comments on this, other than Kurt Stangl, during the "Test Center" exposure, saying "there's nothing we can do."
Fact: ALL of these people were able to play the game just fine for the last two years.
Sad...but true...
Not one magazine, news agency, or other media distributor, either conventional or electronic, has even attempted to bring light to this situation.
If you went to a restaurant that removed a ramp because "well, only a couple people were using it, they can go elsewhere, it was an eyesore," what would you do? Even if it wasn't illegal, I guarantee that both patrons and customers would be in uproar, and the restaurant soon out of business.

- You can no longer change professions, meaning you are locked into what you choose at the beginning. One of the best things about SWG is that you could change professions and experience more things.
- Lag is at an ALL time high, and considering the servers are almost empty, this is just unexcusable.
- Combat Lag is so bad that you can literally die in 1 second, making almost all dungeons impossible.
- Almost ZERO of the existing content works at this point. This is no understatement.
- Almost every dungeon & quest is bugged because the changes in the NGE are not compatible with the existing world.
- The Coding is INCREDIBLY poor. I estimate that a little over 90% of the combat system doesn't work.
Examples:
- Jumping serves no purpose, and doesn't even work properly.
- Your Corpse can Jump.
- Cloning is now bugged.
- You can walk on water.
- Special attacks and actions fail to work at all 60% of the time.
- A Level 50 NPC can easily kill a LVL 90.
- The only planet you can get quest XP on is the recent expansion, requiring it to level at all.
- There is a hunting missions that is repeatable that is the ONLY quest in the game (out of a dozen planets) that will give you XP reliably. Therefore they have replaced one "Grind" with another.
- Players have used this mission to Grind to LVL 90 (from 80) in less than 2 days.
- After doing this mission, since there is NO death penalty, people run onto the lava to die rather than returning to repeat the mission, it's faster. Lava Diving. Real Star Warsy.
- 90% of ALL items in the game are bugged or no longer work.
- You can't decorate your house.
- You can customize anything, bugged.
- The HUD is bugged.
- Stats do not work.
- All weapons do the same damage, regardless of the stats of the weapon.
- All armor stats protect the same, meaning there is no difference in ANY armor.
- Since there is no collision, combat is a joke, MOBS stand on each other so you can't shoot them.
- Since there is no collision, Griefing is more than commen.
- When collision is added, Griefing will keep people form using even the most basic functions.
- And I could go on for literally HUNDREDS of bugs.
Basically, the game is not playable.
I'm all for change, and I would be supporting a good system, but this NGE has made the game a complete joke. 90% of current players are Jedi that I see. The servers are EMPTY. PVP is COMPLETELY unbalanced (one LVL 54 Commando killing 4 LVL 90 Jedi). Everyone is a cookie cutter template. Out of 120 people on my friends list, all active players, only 4 are continuing to play.
SOE continues to lie to their customers, and almost all of their old correspondents & vet players have either left or been banned form playing and the forums for simply saying they don't like the NGE. They continue to lie and say there are no plans to make SWG a console game, even though it's already leaked out, including during Live TV for the 360 launch.
They shut down their CUSTOMER SERVICE FORUM.
