I'm amazed at how much detail can be in my dreams and how long they can seem. They're from a third-person perspective 50% of the time, which makes it like watching a movie. Often, they're very entertaining and enjoyable, with a fairly linear exposition/plot. While they wouldn't necessarily make complete sense in the Real World, I could argue that they're better than many movies I've seen.
The second dream last night (because I don't recall the first) was in first-person, I along with a colleague were being pursued by an android who was trying to kill us. No matter how fast or far we fled, he was only a moment behind (as is typical...). Each time we tried to trap/defeat him we would find he was impervious to the threat (e.g., throwing cinder blocks on his head from two stories above, knocking him into a large pool of water and electrifying it). Sadly, I don't remember what happened with the android, but we did try stopping him by many different means, which was the fun part. My dreams like this result in me thinking through the problem rather than just trying to run and be afraid, so I haven't had "nightmares" in over a decade, and it makes them all the more enjoyable.
The second one was in third-person, and involved a generic James Bond / Wolverine (one person who would be one or the other) breaking into a beautiful stone-built Italian mansion (I hesitate to call it a castle, because that gives the wrong idea) in order to reclaim stolen property from David Carradine / Michael Douglas. It was at night and the majority of the house that I saw was outdoors- stone walkways and walls (some 20 feet tall), opening to gardens and courtyards, tons of hanging lanterns for light, iron railings and sculptures, fairly still air but it was a cool night with the sound of crickets and the hard echo of the footsteps off the stone.
On a side note, i see detals lie what people see everfy day. rather something local jumps out oat me and is aintegral ort of ht peope. i'm more fuckede up iin the head now hna i r have becefoef. have
I'm glad my mind can entertain itself.
