Halloween Party and a Suicidal Laptop
I went to a great Halloween party Saturday night, hosted by skwidly. The guest list included agingdragqueen, crista, deepfriedenigma, farrisgoldstein, havoktheraven, kamoriaha, peglegpete, revjim, sivatonight, and titanium_kitty. Wow.. that was a lot of LJ under one roof!
My Doctor costume was nothing spectacular. I mean, how much does it take to throw together a pinstripe suit, button-down, tie, and a pair of Chucks? (Note to self: return overpriced Chucks to Kohls...) Now, I must say that I did go beyond simple costuming and also made props. My Sonic Screwdriver came out AWESOME, even if I did have to paint the damn thing a hundred times. I also had a pair of 3D glasses, which only jezebeljade will probably catch the reference to.
But where I got the most compliments was my character. Yes, I spoke in an outrageous English (not British) accent for almost the entirety of the night. I also tried to employ the mannerisms of David Tennant's Doctor. I even had my awesome long hair chopped off for the part (although the bitch cut it too short).

On a slightly less upbeat note, my laptop's hard drive crashed on Saturday. It wouldn't even recognize at POST (that's BAD). I was able to resuscitate it through a combination of my sonic screwdriver, forbidden voodoo, and a freezer. All my data since the last backup was successfully retrieved.
Oh yes, I am in fact a genius.
